Body Pressure Mapping Systems for Seat
PPS’s Body Pressure Mapping System (BPMS) provides a means for designers and clinicians to measure and visualize the key pressure points when a user sits on a seat. Using an array of thin, flexible and highly sensitive sensors placed on a seat, body pressure points are measured and displayed.
This pressure mapping system was designed for seat manufacturers, companies that utilize seats in their products, automotive companies, and for researchers that study comfort levels to create healthy and comfortable seats. BPMS is a pressure visualization and measurement system that measures seat and back pressure distribution to determine the comfort levels of different chairs. The proprietary stretchable TactArray sensor is constructed with advanced conductive cloth materials for conform ability and stretch-ability while maintaining high-performance sensitivity and repeatability. Users can incorporate the sensor into their application without altering the characteristics of the support surface. Data quality is not compromised due to the curved surface requirements.
The pressure mapping system consists of a stretchable TactArray sensor along with an included T4500 electronics that features Wifi or USB 2.0 interface to attach to a computer that runs PPS’s Chameleon image capture and analysis software. This industry-leading software is fully featured which means it can export replay, save test data, and perform analysis functions. Chameleon can also record and playback video with your data results for even greater insight and analysis.
