DigiTacts - Evaluation Kit
 The DigiTacts evaluation kit is intended as an easy-to-use kit for evaluating PPS DigiTacts performance, and as a means for design engineers to accelerate the learning curve around capacitive sensors with digital output.
The evaluation & development kit includes one sensor, interface board, USB interface, LCD display, and starter software.
The Interface board displays the output on an LCD, or communicates with a PC via USB.
- A ribbon cable connector and a standard ribbon cable jumper connects the sensor and interface board.
- Mini-USB connectors are provided for interfacing with the host PC.
- The kit features 2 pushbutton controls: cycle and action.
The DigiTacts Evaluation Kit can be used as a mobile demonstration unit using the LCD display or as a Windows-based data visualization and storage device.
Users can leverage the LCD (simple character display) with optional battery power as a mobile demonstration unit.
- The LCD is a high contrast 8x2 display that is small enough to be wrist mounted (can be upgraded)
- The display can be reconfigured to show raw sensor values, calibrated data or statistical properties like maximum or average.
The included Windows application is able to:
- Read output from the DigiTacts sensor and displays it in ASCII format
- Enable simple data logging
- Switch between USB and serial communication based on the user’s preference
- Additionally, users can initiate calibration of the sensor and modify scale/tare parameters
The kit is powered by onboard battery or power taken from the USB. A switch determines the operating mode.
