![]() Rainy Days Remain Clear with Pressure Profile Systems A Japanese auto parts manufacturer sought to improve the design of their windshield wiper blades, but the available solutions they found were only capable of static measurements. They wanted to see how the wiper worked in action, so they called PPS. With the goal of creating a sensor to acquire data as the wiper swept across the windshield, PPS built a linear array sensor using our Tactile Array technology. With the sensor wrapped around the wiper surface in a T2000 system, real-time data was collected during operation. Custom visualization software displayed the pressure history during the wiper cycle. Wiper systems can have spatial resolutions as fine as 5mm and span widths of up to 1m. Custom solutions for real-time visualization are available.
