  Cardiovascular Health Using Pulse Waveforms

When a prominent medical researcher was looking for a new means for ascertaining cardiovascular health, he asked PPS.
PPS designed an innovative capacitive sensor that could capture a high fidelity pulse signal while allowing the user a full range of force in finding the pulse. The sensor was designed with a rigid outer frame and conformable inner active area for maximum durability and sensitivity

Custom software was designed to display pressure response versus time of one element of the array directly over the artery. From this data, PPS and its client were able to extract frequency information, which is in fact the pulse rate, as well as waveform shape statistics that were used as indicators of cardiovascular health.
PPS is working with its clients to enable the same pulse measurement functionality in an embeddable sensor with digital output.
