Measuring Nip / Roller Pressures During High Tempertature Operations

PPS clients involved in the manufacturing of commercial and personal copiers and printers were fed up with pressure-sensitive films and load cells available to them for nip width and pressure measurement. Looking for a solution that could be used repeatedly and can provide accurate data on pressure variations across or along the nip, they turned to PPS.

Using an Industrial TactArray Sensor, PPS is able to measure nip pressure ranges up to 2000 psi. This industrial sensor can also withstand temperatures up to 200C, necessary to simulate certain printing environments. 

With customized software, PPS not only provided 3D pressure contours but also performed key and proprietary analysis to generate useful results in real-time.
